I am a psychotherapist in the West Omaha/Elkhorn area with over 18 years of experience working in the mental health and addictions field. As a therapist, I have served hundreds of clients from a diverse range of socio-economic, cultural, sexual, and faith orientations.
My experience includes working with adolescents, adults, and older adults. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including, outpatient, residential, and inpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment, and several community based programs. As well, my background includes assisting clients in the legal system, on probation, and/or in detention centers.
My clients tell me that I create an environment of comfort and safety. They describe me as approachable and non-judgmental. I am direct with my clients, and approach our work together with curiosity, empathy and humor.
I have a unique ability to connect with others, and this allows trust to develop rather quickly. When you find a therapist you can trust, you are more likely to find the answers you are looking for which can lead to huge life transformation.
I feel it is important to address the whole-person including the mind-body connection. My approach is individualized, and includes the use of various treatment methods including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) among others.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and together we will develop a specific plan to reach your goals.
I obtained both my Bachelor of Science in Social Work (2000), and Master of Social Work (2002) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
